Happy Halloween!

No posts lately because I have been working like a mad woman...but making mad money too! Lots of projects/reports/articles, etc... this week, but I am finally getting a break!

Had a spooktacular Halloween, was baby's first...I am just going to enjoy the rest of the evening...just wanted to post this pic of the cutest pudgiest pumpkin that ever existed!

Will post more about WAHMing this weekend...

Happy Halloween!

Productivity

So the weekend was great, had tons of fun, took baby to an orchid show with family and hubby and she loved it and laughed so much, it was too cute...but she did not nap well or sleep much at all over the weekend! So I ended up only doing about 75$ worth of writing over the weekend. Not too bad, but most of that was during one good nap she took! and I have sooooo much more writing to get done to meet my deadlines this week!

Oh! and my super cool new MacBook came today! Hubby is getting it all set up, its going to be so much faster than my current notebook, and I am hopefully going to get a lot more done faster

Today, was semi-productive, I finished about 60$ worth of articles, and only that because I had to do massive cleaning today before I could think about working, I am so unproductive in clutter.

It's so hard to focus on baby and try and work at the same time...I want to make sure I am giving her enough attention...after all she is the reason I became a WAHM in the first place! On a positive note, my Dad is going to be coming by to baby sit some while I plug away at writing for an hour or two...hopefully on a weekly basis so that will be awesome! plus he LOVES spending time with baby, so its a win-win for all involved :-)

...well got to sign off, hubby just made me a PB&J sandwich and Im starving...nursing, losing all those calories...it makes me hungry!

I just made $75 in half an hour for a 300 word article

...and I am feeling pretty good about it all :-) It's one of my highest paying clients, and I just wrote the article while baby is peacefully sleeping (finally after hours of fussing from teething) and is one of the reasons I love being a WAHM! And would encourage any other aspiring writer WAHMS to go for it, because there is a lot of opportunity out there, especially in business publications.

Other than that it was a pretty productive day, I got about 4 small articles finished while baby was napping today that totaled to about $60...I could have probably done more but I had to take a very brief rest with baby because I was just so tired.

I had a nice evening out with Hubby and Baby tonight at our young married group at church...it was dessert night though and I think I ate wayyyyy to much sugar.

I am looking forward to the weekend, but plan to do a lot of work to get a head start on this coming week, as it promises to be VERY busy! I am actually a bit concerned about the workload I have...I am happy, because it's every freelancer's dream to have more work than you can handle, but I just want to make sure I am delivering the best quality to my clients, to maintain a good rep and get referrals.

My little one looks all cute and snuggly, and I am sleepy so I am going to cuddle up with her and drift to sleep :-)

A WAHMs Greatest Vice - Coffee?

Hello WAHMS

So I have begun to realize something...I am becoming addicted to coffee! And the unhealthy kind loaded with cream and sugar...and the occasional shot of chocolate milk! Yes, I know it's bad.

But I just dont know how else to stay awake! I know, I know, get more sleep...but I am just so busy. And this coffee thing is not good because I am still nursing full time. So my new October resolution is to cut back to half a cup, black, like I used to drink when I was preggers. How do all you other WAHMs manage to stay awake?

Anyways...I am calling it an early night tonight. I have a phone conference tomorrow with one of my editors pretty early, and a lot of articles to write for tomorrow...I want to get a jump start on next week.

Also, I just got my professional website up...JessicaWriter.com!...haha I love the domain. I think it's turning out pretty good, but still a work in progress.

Getting sleepy, so going to say goodnight, so I dont need too much coffee in the morning!

...oh more of my story of how I came into WAHM-hood, over the weekend hopefully!

Welcome to the Joys of WAHM-hood!

It's official, I am now a full time WAHM - Work at Home Mom! My journey into WAHM-Hood has been long, confusing, and arduous...but now that I am here I feel great! A wonderful peace in knowing that I am going to stay home with my baby and contribute to my family's financial well being at the same time...which is very much needed during these tough times!

First, I intend for this blog to record the challenges, joys, trials, and triumphs of my personal WAHM story and the stories of other WAHMs. I want to share tips and tactics, give and receive feedback, and just post and chat about everything WAHM related!

There will be much more to come about my personal journey into WAHM-hood, but it will come in small doses, because like every other WAHM, I have so very little time!

But, introductions are do able tonight! So...

I am a full time freelance writer, and a WAHM. I have a BA in English from the University of Florida and a significant work history in sales and marketing, which is why I specialize in writing and editing for business publications. I love to write and can do it well and quickly...But enough about that, more importantly I married to the love of my life! and we each now have another life long love...our sweet and spunky little baby girl, who is now 6 months old, who was born shortly before our first wedding anniversary...yes the honeymoon was magical ;-)

I'll post pics very soon!
